Once a Panther, Always a Panther!
Hello Parents, Guardians, and Students,
I am Mrs. Christine Martinez and I teach Business Management I-IV, Physical Science and Earth Science. I have been working for Superior Unified School District since 2005 and began my teaching career here at Superior High School in 2010. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Business Education. I
I know most students don't believe I have a life outside of the school, but I do! I have been married for 33 years and have three children and four grandchildren.
These are a few things I really enjoy doing in my free time:
Reading (my favorite authors are Nicholas Sparks and Jodi Picoult).
Spending time with my kids and grandkids
District Mission Statement
"The Mission of the Superior Unified School District is to: (1) educate all students to their fullest potential and, (2) provide the necessary individual skills to become both college and career ready as well as productive citizens."
When it comes to teaching, I believe that all children are unique and have something special that they can bring to their own education. I also understand that it is important to develop strong relationships that tap into students' passions and provide a relevance that allows students to make real world connections with the curriculum. I stress individual responsibility for learning in the class and want my students to enjoy and be challenged in class by incorporating meaningful hands-on and cooperative learning experiences, projects, and individual work that engages and activates student learning.
As you may already know, on Monday, March 30, Governor Ducey and Superintendent of Public Instruction Hoffman extended the state-wide closure of all Arizona schools for the remainder of the school year.
First and foremost, thank you to our students and their families, to our fellow educators and staff, for your patience, feedback, collaboration, and thoughtfulness this week. We are all working hard to refine our plans to serve students during this closure. Our primary goal in this time is to ensure that we are providing learning opportunities.
Students enrolled in my classes will be receiving lessons and instructions using the learning management system Schoology. I have also developed this website to help students that are looking for more information. For those students that may not have internet access, the high school office can be contacted and a printed packet will be created for the student.
Until classes resume again, I want my students to know that I truly miss and care about each of them. I also wish them and their families safety and well being during this unprecedented time.
My email is posted here, don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or just need to chat.

Letter from Superior Unified School District
Dear Superior Families, Governor Ducey and Superintendent Hoffman have made the decision to close school until the end of May. This includes the cancellation of our Panther spring sports programs. This also includes all spring assemblies and banquets. We will be working with our administration, staff, and seniors to find possible alternative solutions to graduation. The Superior Unified School District will continue serving a combined breakfast and lunch to all children ages 18-under in the Superior Unified School District boundaries until May 22nd.
